Markus Gesmann

Manager, Analysis at Lloyd's

London, United Kingdom

About Me

I lead a team of analysts that supports Lloyd’s and managing agents with a central analysis function with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, underwriters, actuaries, accountants, rating agencies, regulators and analysts.

The team developed monthly reports on premium income and price movements, quarterly analysis of syndicates’ underwriting performance against their notional market and business plans, and the annual ’Statistics Relating to Lloyd’s’ including online data visualisation tools. In 2009 I was the co-leader of the Performance Management Data Project, introducing a consistent price monitoring framework. Since 2011 I chair the data working group, supporting the implementation of Solvency II.
